A 35-year-old man was released from prison on Thursday after spending 18 years behind bars for a murder he did not commit.Sheldon Thomas has spent half his life locked up for the 2004 murder of a 14-year-old boy in East Flatbush, but the District Attorney Eric Gonzalez moved to vacate his conviction on March 9, and ultimately allowed Thomas to leave on his own will - regaining the freedom he lost nearly two decades ago.
