A business-backed PAC is funding San Francisco supervisor races to oppose pro-worker state bills and related labor protections.
The lawsuit claims that when Walsh requested to work remotely she was told that she could either return to the office or take unpaid leave, which would result in her losing her income and health insurance.
The Pregnancy Discrimination Act protects pregnant employees from workplace discrimination based on your pregnancy. Additionally, the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act requires your employer to provide reasonable accommodations for pregnancy-related conditions. For maternity leave, the Family and Medical Leave Act (federal law) entitles eligible employees with up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave following childbirth if you've worked at your company for at least a year.
The act will be a first-of-its-kind as it places significant restrictions on the use of AI in the workplace. This will require businesses to take a closer look at their AI systems, including regular audits, and to ensure they are using these systems transparently and in compliance with state regulations.
The Supreme Court ruling allows individuals from majority backgrounds to pursue claims of reverse discrimination, thereby potentially reshaping the definition of discrimination in the workplace.
