Laboureau can most often be found in his Argentinian restaurant, Fuegos LA, which he operates with his partner in love and business, Maximilian Pizzi. But with years of experience in production design and fashion, he recently found himself dreaming up the inside of Bad Bunny's casita, a set piece previously seen only from the exterior during the Grammy Award-winning rapper and singer's "No Me Quiero Ir De Aqui" residency in Puerto Rico.
In a letter to the FCC chairman Brendan Carr imploring him to launch a probe, Florida Republican congressman Randy Fine wrote, "What Americans witnessed during the Super Bowl halftime show with Bad Bunny was despicable and never should be allowed to be shown on television again... In America, our laws are not suggestions, and no matter what foreign language you speak, you must comply." Fine specifically cited the line "el perico es blanco" from Bad Bunny's song "NUEVAYoL," which is a reference to cocaine.
The most revealing thing about the Super Bowl halftime show was not Bad Bunny, Kid Rock, or even Donald Trump deciding that this was a useful place to weigh in. It was how quickly millions of people volunteered to be furious on cue, as if anger were a civic duty rather than an emotional habit that has gotten wildly out of hand.
