OpenAI's generative AI platform doesn't have many fans in the creative community, and it seems you can count Trey Stone and Matt Parker among them. The South Park duo largely center this week's episode around the AI video platform, with a plot in which Butters ignites a school-wide scandal after seeking revenge on his ex-girlfriend, Red, by using Sora to generate a video of her farting and getting urinated on by Santa.

Butters, what the heck! This week's episode titled "Sora not Sorry" has Butters being very bad; he's making "revenge porn" with AI and the kids at South Park Elementary aren't happy with it. "You shouldn't be using AI to make revenge porn, Butters," Kyle exclaims in the promo as the clip cuts to Red McArthur, Butters's girlfriend, angrily holding her phone.

The other four designs each highlight a specific character: Kenny, Cartman, Randy Marsh, and Towelie, complete with details that throw back to moments from the show. The Randy Marsh Classic Clog finds Stan's dad dressed in his geologist uniform, with Jibbitz charms that callback to such moments as his "I thought this was America!" quote from "The Losing Edge" episode, and his transformation into a butterfly in the Inception parody, "Insheeption."

Even if you haven't read some of the scariest stories about AI in the last few months, it's easy to see how a machine that flatters its users and encourages to aid their every whim could become a massive problem. So, in episode 3, aptly titled Sickofancy, Randy Marsh's desire to save his marijuana farm from total collapse sends him on a ChatGPT and ketamine-induced spiral that goes all the way to Donald Trump and the White House.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the season 27 premiere had 6 million cross-platform viewers, as well as the show's biggest share in 25 years.

The episode touched on some of the most controversial recent events in the past few weeks, including tariffs on Canada, the Jeffrey Epstein case, and CBS's cancellation of The Late Show.
