You know, people use Orwellian they overused the word. President Donald Trump has announced he will send Tom Homan to Minneapolis, an apparent benching of DHS honcho Kristi Noem, who has reportedly been at odds with the border czar. Trump announced the move via his Truth Social platform on Monday morning, two days after the shooting of Minneapolis VA nurse Alex Pretti by Border Patrol agents. Noem's version of the story-which has been captured in multiple videos, from multiple angles-is that the mother-of-three "attacked" the ICE officers and "attempted to run them over and ram them with her vehicle" while they were trying to push their own vehicles out of the snow. The secretary doubled down on those claims on Fox News later on Thursday, saying Good was "an anti-ICE rioter" who "weaponized her vehicle."

Noem spoke with CNN's Jake Tapper about the death of Renee Nicole Good, a queer wife and mother who was shot three times by ICE agent Jonathan Ross while fleeing from him in her car. Despite extensive video footage proving otherwise, Noem has claimed the officer's life was in danger and accused Good of weaponizing her vehicle against him. She even called Good a domestic terrorist.

US homeland security chief Kristi Noem said late on Thursday that President Donald Trump ordered her to pause the diversity visa lottery which was used by the suspect at the Brown University shooting. "At President Trump's direction, I am immediately directing USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services) to pause the DV1 program to ensure no more Americans are harmed by this disastrous program."
