Charlie Kirk Assassination Leads Comedy Central to Pull South Park Episode the MAGA Star Called Badge of Honor'
"We as conservatives should be able to take a joke, we shouldn't take ourselves so seriously that's something that the left has always done, Kirk told Fox News ahead of the South Park episode airing."
"I think it's kind of funny and it kind of goes to show the cultural impact and the resonance that our movement has been able to achieve. So I look at this as a badge of honor."
Comedy Central removed a rerun of South Park season 27 episode two, "Got a Nut," following the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk at a Utah event. South Park has aired four episodes this season with a fifth scheduled for September 17, and reruns of new episodes are shown in chronological order on off weeks. The pulled episode depicts Eric Cartman impersonating Kirk, hosting a campus debate podcast, and attending a Charlie Kirk Award ceremony; the episode remains available on Paramount+. Kirk embraced the depiction as a badge of honor and posted clips. Some conservatives criticized the show, with the Trump White House calling it irrelevant and Kristi Noem calling it lazy.
