Devoted father of David Aliano of West Roxbury, Mark Aliano of Biddeford, ME, Deborah Aliano of Boston, and the late Robert J. Aliano Jr. He leaves his beloved dog "Buddy." Brother of Lorraine Kilroy of Canton and Sonny Aliano of Walpole. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Bill Donovan, the father of Chicago Bulls coach Billy Donovan and whose own basketball exploits propelled him to the Boston College Hall of Fame, has died. He was 85. Bill Donovan died Saturday, according to the obituary posted by Williams-Thomas Funeral Home in Gainesville, Florida. The crash happened at around 11.10pm on Friday on the N24 near Grange West, Boher, Co Limerick. Michael died on Jan. 5, at age 85, from complications of cancer. He told his wife, Sandy, to be sure that his obituary included his work on Ron Dellums's first Congressional campaign in 1970, when Dellums ran on an anti-Vietnam war platform.
ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- Tracy Scroggins, who had 60 1/2 sacks in 10 seasons as a playmaking defensive end for the Detroit Lions, has died. He was 56. The Lions announced Scroggins' death on Monday. A cause of death was not provided. Since sacks became an official stat in 1982, just Robert Porcher and Michael Cofer had more than Scroggins in franchise history.
Kudelka was born in Burnie on the north coast of Tasmania in 1972. After selling his first cartoon at the age of nine, he went on to draw political cartoons for more than 30 years, some 10,000 of which were published. He was 83. He died of complications from heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease at his home in the Studio City neighborhood of Los Angeles, according to publicist Zach Farnum.
At the end of 2024, Dan was diagnosed with neuroendocrine cancer. The news of his diagnosis hit all of us hard, but Dan never lost his enthusiasm or his spirit. Some of us have worked with Dan for nearly a decade, and all of us have come to know him not just as a coworker, but as a great friend.
"It is with overwhelming sadness and heavy hearts we share the news that our beloved Francis passed away yesterday after a private battle with cancer," the family statement said. The former Leeds and Wales midfielder Terry Yorath has died at the age of 75 following a short illness, his family have said in a statement. Born in Cardiff, Yorath played a big part in the Leeds team under Don Revie, winning the First Division title, before spells with Coventry, Tottenham and Bradford. He also won 59 caps for Wales. Speaking on behalf of the family, his children said: To most he was a revered footballing hero, but to us he was Dad; a quiet, kind and gentle man.
