For queer people though, there's a distinct selection of Keaton films that have shaped and inspired them more than any others. gained gay cult classic status in 1996 for its camp lesbian bar scene and queer representation in Annie's daughter, Chris. 2005's The Family Stone, in which Keaton played the mother of a gay and deaf son, was praised for its powerful, affirmative dinner table scene. The following year she dropped Surrender, Dorothy, featuring a dragged up Chris Pine.

There is no need to have a kissing scene, especially a lesbian kissing scene, in a children's show. This is pushing an agenda. There are other options. There are other streaming networks.
I've kind of dug into this a little bit more, and the way they do it is they do these scenes, and they switch them around very fast. And [modern producers] do different scenes and it's moving around every second, and that releases certain things in young children's minds, and we need to find out why are they doing like this because this is contracting their brains, this is molding their brains.

A Chinese version of Dave Franco's new horror film Together has been digitally altered character so that a gay couple appear to be heterosexual, according to reports. Artificial intelligence appears to have been used in the Chinese release of the Australian movieto change the gender identity of the character, leaving no LGBTQ+ representation in the story. In the original film, audiences see a newlywed couple played by Charlie Lees and MJ Dorning.

The Groomsmen: Second Chances stars Mean Girls actor Jonathan Bennett as former pro basketball player turned coach Danny, while his business manager and eventual husband Zack is played by This Biter Earth and A Night Like This actor, Alexander Lincoln. As the visibility of LGBTQ+ people has risen in many countries in the last decade, so too has a backlash from conservative parts of societies, fuelled in many cases by far-right activists and politicians using gay and transgender people as scapegoats for other problems. I think it's hard when you become representative of something to other people, and then you change or you are just following your heart, and then that means other people feel that they are not represented anymore. The pressure of that is so immense. As much as it's funny that Reneé Rapp is like, 'You'll never catch me dating a man.' It's like, 'Go off, queen! I love that for you.' But I also hold space for her in 10 years if she goes, 'Oops, I met the love of my life and it's this man, I didn't mean to.' It's like, that's okay!
