More than 2,000 people have gathered in a park in San Diego, California, to mourn a security guard and two other men murdered as they tried to stop this week's attack on the city's largest mosque. Mourners, including police officers in uniform, stood in rows for the Islamic funeral prayer, or Janazah, on Thursday. The bodies of the three men 51-year-old Amin Abdullah, 78-year-old Mansour Kaziha and 57-year-old Nadir Awad lay beneath cloth, underneath a white canopy.

Jasen Kaplan, who appeared on LGBTQ+ dating show Finding Prince Charming, died on New Year's Eve 2025 aged 46 in New York City. Kaplan worked as a makeup artist for celebrities including Cyndi Lauper, Eva Longoria and Kelly Osbourne. He appeared on the first and only season of the Bachelor-style gay dating show Finding Prince Charming, hosted by NSYNC star Lance Bass, in 2016.

That was like my brother, not by blood but by love," teammate Gavin Hernandez said. "I've known him since I was like 9, 10 years old... went to championship together, got a ring together, went to nationals.

More than a thousand people gathered Saturday in Oakland for a celebration of life for Beam, who lost his life last November after being shot. "When I was younger, he was my hero -- strong, driven," said Monica Beam. John Beam's daughters spoke from the heart at their dad's celebration of life.

A beloved Italian churchgoer who was ruthlessly beaten to death outside a Brooklyn subway station was remembered for his kindness, cheerful laugh and unwavering faith, as more than 100 family members and friends gathered Friday night to honor his life. Nicola Tanzi, 64, was killed on Oct. 7 when a recidivist psycho savagely attacked him for no reason as the devout Catholic held a door open at the Jay Street-MetroTech Station - near where he had worked as a security guard for 15 years.

It's devastating. My wife actually told me about it during the service. She had heard of it. I think it's just a reminder of how much evil there is in this world. And that really we as, as followers of Christ, need to do what we can to kind of combat it.
