The tragic crash of an Air India flight claimed the lives of 231 individuals, including Croydon residents Vaibhav Patel and his pregnant wife Jinal Goswami. The couple was en route back to London after celebrating their baby shower in Ahmedabad. Friends and former colleagues remembered them fondly, describing Vaibhav as a hardworking family man and a true gentleman. The flight disaster, which occurred shortly after take off on June 12, 2025, has left the community in shock as it mourns the loss of this young family and many others on board.
Nirav Patel shared, 'When he worked in Southampton I saw him a lot... We were very good friends and had so much fun together. This is a massive loss.'
Harshil Thakar, the manager at Papa John's, reflected on Vaibhav, stating he was a 'true gentleman' and a 'family man' who worked very hard.
