Now that the dust has settled on the 2025 NFL season, NFL Media's Nick Shook ranked all 63 quarterbacks who started at least one game last year based on how they played during the regular season *AND* playoffs. Shook's list of quarterbacks who made at least one (1) start is a doozy and features seven different tiers. However, one name stands out (to me) above the rest - and it is Caleb Williams.
Caleb Williams is no stranger to letting it fly from deep. So perhaps it should come as no surprise that the Chicago Bears quarterback will be a participant in the upcoming 3-point shooting competition during the NBA's All-Star Game Weekend festivities. No, seriously ... this is a thing that is happening. The event is set to take place on Friday. So if you saw this tweet and thought Jacob Infante was just having a laugh, think again:
After missing rookie minicamp, OTAs, and the early portion of training camp with a hamstring injury, Burden entered the season playing catch-up. Rather than rushing the process, he focused on building trust with offensive play-caller Ben Johnson, quarterback Caleb Williams, and wide receivers coach Antwaan Randle El. That patience paid off. As the season progressed, Burden transitioned from a rotational weapon into a reliable weekly target, no longer resembling a first-year player by the stretch run.
Keenan Allen's time with the Chicago Bears was short-lived, but memorable. Allen caught 70 passes for 744 yards in 15 games with Chicago in 2024. He caught seven touchdowns and threw the most random interception you'll ever see. But more than that, he provided a security blanket for Caleb Williams as a rookie quarterback and leadership for a team that needed it in the worst way.
In practice, it's a yearly argument about expectations and whether we're rewarding actual coaching or just the greatest surprise. But this year's race is a little different. The pool of candidates is unusually deep. It's been the season of turnarounds. The league has been messy, with recent division winners falling away and recent also-rans all rising together. In an ordinary year, Sean Payton guiding the Broncos to the top
Logic and common sense suggest the 49ers can't win their sixth Lombardi Trophy playing the kind of defense they did Sunday night. But logic and common sense went out the window a long time ago, not coincidentally at about the same time as Nick Bosa and Fred Warner were lost to injury. The 49ers have a 12-4 record after a 42-38 win over the Chicago Bears at Levi's Stadium.
How much you will or won't enjoy the Caleb Williams experience depends almost entirely on the timing of your dosage. Catch him during one of those quarters when the Bears can't buy a first down and all Williams seems capable of doing is avoiding pressure and throwing the ball out of bounds, and you're liable to throw your hands up and conclude that Ben Johnson needs a new quarterback. But catch him when he's in the middle of one of his fourth-quarter comebacks-he's got six this year-and you might think there isn't a better quarterback in the league.
When Jayden Daniels embraced Caleb Williams on the field after their Week 8 heartstopper last season, the two quarterbacks couldn't have known how decisively their paths were about to diverge. Daniels, the Washington Commanders star who was drafted No. 2 in 2024, threw the winning Hail Mary and walked into a spotlight that kept getting brighter as he won Offensive Rookie of the Year and led the Commanders to the NFC Championship Game.
Caleb Williams is at the top of Team of the Week 3. EA Sports Sep 24, 2025, 12:18 PM ET EA Sports has revealed the stars getting special items in Madden NFL 26 Ultimate Team as part of Team of the Week 3. TOTW is a program that runs alongside the NFL season and delivers weekly content releases featuring athletes who've had standout performances in the previous week's games.
Dallas are riding the high of an overtime thriller against the New York Giants. In a game filled with momentum swings, Dak Prescott led the Cowboys back from a half-time deficit before a clutch field goal sealed a 40-37 victory. Chicago, meanwhile, is searching for answers after being dismantled 52-21 by the Detroit Lions. The Bears' new era under Ben Johnson has stumbled out of the gate, and rookie quarterback Caleb Williams is already under the microscope after a rocky introduction to NFL life.
Williams painted the index finger of his right hand teal and his ring finger purple - the colours of the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. He adorned the middle finger with a suicide prevention ribbon. On his left hand, the index, middle and ring fingers sported the numbers 988. A sub-section of the national suicide crisis helpline, the LGBTQ+ Youth Specialised Service hotline, was shut down by the Trump administration in July under changes to the US federal budget.
Week 1 of the fantasy football season is more about player usage than schemes or game plans. Sure, the coaching matters, and so do the individual matchups. But when we set our lineups for this week, we want to base it on the volume and scoring opportunities for the players we just drafted, right? Yes, Week 1 numbers aren't necessarily a projection of a player's value for the remainder of the season.
