Logan Airport will soon get more options for Boston travelers and visitors to quell their hunger this spring. A press release Tuesday from Paradies Lagardère, a restaurant and retailer group that focuses on airports, confirmed the opening of Berkshire Farm to Flight and CAVA at Boston Logan International Airport. Paradies Lagardère said both new restaurant concepts would be located in Terminal B.
Airports are not usually known for their food. So often they are worlds of plastic-wrapped sandwiches, wilted lettuce and dishes that taste only of delay. When we are flying, we crave edible comfort and maybe even a touch of joy. For years, that has felt like too much to ask. Gordon Ramsay Plane Food Market at Heathrow Terminal 5 is far more than a quick refuelling stop. It recognises that travellers are human beings.
Gone are the days when airport food choices consisted of a dry, questionable ham and cheese sandwich from Hudson News or a $20 burger with the texture of a hockey puck from the sports bar closest to your gate. Airports all over the United States are getting hip to the fact that travelers are ready for higher-quality dining options, and Denver International Airport is no exception.
Golden Krust has opened a new location at JFK Airport, offering Caribbean cuisine including authentic Jamaican patties and jerk chicken. The restaurant is part of JFK's $19 billion renovation project.
"Airports, just like other concessions and concepts out there, are becoming more experiential. The airport that you're visiting can be just as much of a destination as where you're going, so it's a reflection of the local city."
