Composers Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt describe their score for the film Barbie as having a surreal quality that fits the alternate dimension of Barbie Land.
The score incorporates elements of classical and romantic music as well as 80s synthesizers, resulting in a sound that is both nostalgic and colorful.
The composers initially started working on the film to create a couple of songs, but ended up scoring the entire film through a process of experimentation and trial and error.
