A recent Times study reveals that about 21% of Generation Z employees prefer to work from home full-time, contrasting with only 10% who favor full-time office work. With fewer than 40% completing five days in the office, a notable number (24%) wish to minimize their time at work. The pandemic has heavily influenced these preferences, and firms are encountering resistance from Gen Z staff when implementing stricter office attendance policies, as seen with companies like Lloyds and WPP.
This is a whole generation that has been in the workforce and only ever known working from home or hybrid working.
Nearly a quarter (24 percent) want to spend most of their working hours at home, while 17 percent conceded they would like to work from home all the time.
