An Award-Winning New England Seafood Spot Closes After Only a Year
Briefly

Owner Tom Schlesinger-Guidelli stated, "I am proud of our team and of the hospitality we shared at both Hook + Line and H+L Market. It is no secret the thin line that restaurants walk with profitability, and even though we have created a beautiful and well-received restaurant, bar, and market, it just isn't sustainable for us to continue."
Hook + Line mixed classic New England seafood staples like stuffies and fried fish sandwiches with updated takes on seaside fare like a brown butter crab dip with kimchi and mini Maine lobster rolls served both hot and cold.
The restaurant was largely well-received during its tenure. Hook + Line snagged a spot on Eater's list of the essential seafood restaurants in Boston last fall, and was one of Boston Magazine's top 50 restaurants in the city in 2024.
The Boston Globe heralded it as 'just what the area needs' shortly after its opening; a bright spot amid the Seaport's chain-heavy restaurant scene. But there were stumbles, too.
