Extreme frustration, fiery frustration, a lot of anger, white hot anger. But then ultimately, that's mixed with pride in this movie we've done. And also, who knows? Everything happens for a reason, and it is certainly possible that the crazy journey that this movie is taking will help get more eyes on it, because it's a story people know about a little bit.

As always with awards season, though, there was plenty of disappointment elsewhere, with many contenders receiving zero Academy Award nominations on Thursday.

For more than a century, Warner Bros has been one of Hollywood's biggest players, a legacy studio that helped define the Golden Age of cinema with iconic blockbuster movies. Now, it's at the centre of a contentious, billion-dollar bidding war between Netflix, the world's leading streaming platform, and Paramount Skydance, owned by the powerful Ellison family, which has close ties to President Trump.

After breaking box-office records with a string of $40 million openings, the studio released Paul Thomas Anderson's One Battle After Another, which just bolstered its status as the season's most formidable Oscar contender by sweeping the first week of precursor awards. And if, for some reason, One Battle stumbles before the finish line, the title that's best positioned to likely win in its stead is another Warner Bros. movie: Ryan Coogler's Sinners, which, like OBAA, has shown up everywhere it's needed to this season.

A Hello Kitty movie is coming to theaters on July 21, 2028. Sigh, it's too far away. Maybe Janelle Monáe's time travel skills can help us out with the wait. Kitty dropped the news on October 29 via water tower; she posted a video of herself in front of the Animaniacs' home, aka the Warner Bros. Water Tower, with a bow just like hers painted onto the logo.
