I t's Clean Air Day tomorrow (June 15), a campaign delivered across the UK to build awareness of the impact of air pollution on our health, and easy ways to tackle it in order to protect our health and environment.According to the Global Action Plan, air pollution is the cause of 36,000 deaths in the UK.

U p to 30 asylum seekers were allegedly left to sleep on the street in Whitechapel on Wednesday evening after refusing unsuitable accommodation from the Home Office.The group were brought to the hostel in Whitechapel at 9pm, when some were allegedly told they needed to share single rooms with four people, without beds or bedding, according to a charity worker at the scene.

A police horse that was attacked by a dog in an east London park on Wednesday has been inundated with apples and treats from members of the public as he begins his recovery.Police said the brown male horse, named Urbane, was expected to fully recuperate from several wounds to his front legs, chest and underbelly.

York has recorded the strongest house price inflation across England and Wales's towns and cities in 2022, according to analysis.Over the past year, house prices in the historic Yorkshire city have grown by 23.1%, or 69,648 on average in cash terms, Halifax found.Since March 2020, the month when the coronavirus lockdowns started in the UK, average house prices in York have surged by 41.9% or 109,457, meaning typical property values there have risen to 370,639.
