"Sarita" on Instagram appears to be the account the agency reported, showing a blonde woman wearing a Massachusetts State Police uniform, complete with a badge and a gun. In the pictures posted since Dec. 29, her name tags reads "Sara," "St. Pay," and "St. May." In one, the letters are unintelligible. The account has more than 100,000 followers as of Sunday evening. MSP declined to confirm the account.
Vehicle burglary, grand theft, theft by credit card: Between 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 19 and 6:50 a.m. on Jan. 20, someone broke through a window of a vehicle parked in the 13000 block of Fortuna Court and stole a backpack containing a laptop, headphones and a wallet for a loss valued at approximately $2,330. The suspect then used a credit card in the wallet to make a fraudulent purchase totaling approximately $107.
Officers were first alerted to the discarded mail on the afternoon of Jan. 23, according to police. Upon finding the mail in a dumpster on Elm Street in North Troy, they determined that none of it was for that address. Police identified Morisseau as a person of interest and learned that she was a postal employee.
An unidentified foreign hacker broke into the FBI's field office in New York in 2023 and compromised files related to the bureau's investigation into the sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, according to Reuters. The hack took advantage of a server at the Child Exploitation Forensic Lab in the FBI's New York Field Office that was left inadvertently vulnerable by an FBI special agent working on the case.
LeakBase has been operating since 2021, the authorities said, and had a continuously maintained archive of hacked databases, including hundreds of millions of account credentials, credit card numbers, and banking account and routing information.
The ShinyHunters extortion group has claimed the theft of roughly 14 million records from Panera Bread, after compromising a Microsoft Entra single-sign-on (SSO) code. The attack falls in line with recent ShinyHunters attacks that rely on voice phishing (vishing) and SSO authentication to access victim organizations' cloud-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) environments. Last week, ShinyHunters published on its Tor-based leak site a 760GB archive allegedly containing the sensitive information stolen from Panera Bread.
The revelation stems from a data-sharing agreement signed last April by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, which allows U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to submit names and addresses of immigrants inside the U.S. illegally to the IRS for cross-verification against tax records. A declaration filed Wednesday by IRS Chief Risk and Control Officer Dottie Romo stated that the IRS was only able to verify roughly 47,000 of the 1.28 million names ICE requested.
