A 92-year-old woman in Brooklyn was scammed out of $8,000 by a suspect posing as a New York City Police Department employee. The scammer called the victim on April 8, claiming her daughter was in a serious car accident and that medical care would cost around $150,000. After the call, the suspect visited her home and received the money. He fled the scene and was last seen wearing a brown sweater, blue vest, gray pants, black sunglasses, and multicolored sneakers.
