In his victory speech after winning the New York mayoral election last week, Zohran Mamdani came out swinging. The speech included, among other dramatic flourishes, a reference to the socialist titan Eugene Debs, shoutouts to the city's Senegalese taxi drivers and Uzbek nurses, tributes to Jawaharlal Nehru and Fiorello La Guardia, sprinkles of Arabic and it was all delivered with the cadence and command of a hip-hop emcee.
Nancy Pelosi's daughter, Christine Pelosi, is tossing her hat into the ring for the California state senate, just days after her mom announced her retirement from Congress. The younger Pelosi, a longtime political consultant and former chairperson of the California Democratic Women's Caucus, announced her campaign on social media on Monday morning. Hi, I'm Christine Pelosi. Attorney, author, advocate, wife, mom, and today, a candidate for California State Senate, she says in a campaign video accompanying the post.
On the eve of his New York mayoral election victory, Zohran Kwame Mamdani posted an ad on social media soundtracked by Bob Dylan's "The Times They Are a-Changin'." The video, like much of Mamdani's campaign, went viral, as its "New York is a-changin'" slogan rapidly spread across social media. By the following morning, however, it had been removed from X with a takedown notice: "This media has been disabled in response to a report by the copyright holder."

Susanna Gibson Payne, 42, was arrested on September 22 for assault and battery against a family member. Payne claimed that her husband, 44-year-old John David Gibson, has been harassing her amid their divorce since last year.
Conor McGregor wasn't among the minglers. The MMA has-been, whose rape cases and hate-based political campaign have brought him more attention over the past two years than all other presidential candidates combined, bowed out earlier this week. He announced his withdrawal from the race in a rambling middle-of-the-night tweet, in which he blamed shadowy unnamed forces for keeping him from higher office, and made sure to praise his own efforts to turn Ireland into a much meaner place.
Gareth Sheridan, the Dublin-born businessman, emphasized the essential need for younger representation in the upcoming Irish presidential election, sharing his inspiration rooted in family values and community responsibility.
