Curtis Sliwa, the Republican mayoral nominee for New York City, condemned rivals Andrew Cuomo and Eric Adams during an appearance on Fox News. He accused Cuomo of abandoning the race and not actively campaigning, while labeling Adams as corrupt. Sliwa emphasized his commitment to campaigning in the streets and subways, targeting younger voters and positioning himself as a strong opponent against socialist policies represented by Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani. He expressed confidence in his campaign's appeal to voters living and working in New York City.
Andrew Cuomo, who gave up this election to Zohran Mamdani, admitted he didn't try hard, didn't go into the streets, certainly didn't go into the subways where I am every day campaigning.
You're not ready for prime time. I'm in the streets, I'm the subways, I'm getting the millennials, I'm getting the Gen Zs, I'm taking on Zohran Mamdani and the socialists in their own neighborhoods.
Eric Adams is damaged goods. Every day a new case of corruption in the police department. They believe he's corrupt.
My whole campaign is improve, don't move. We are going to fight for what we know is right. The rest of these guys don't seem to want to stay in New York City to campaign.
