The UK's decision to proscribe Palestine Action as a terrorist organisation has been likened to authoritarian crackdowns in Russia by a UN expert. The UN special rapporteur on counterterrorism and human rights, Professor Ben Saul, said the UK government's ban on the direct action protest group is an unnecessary and disproportionate restriction on fundamental human rights. In evidence submitted to the High Court, he warned that the move sets a precedent for further crackdown on other protest movements in the UK, such as climate activists.

Grok, built by Musk company xAI and integrated into his social media platform X, said in a widely shared post in French that claimed gas chambers at the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp were designed for disinfection with Zyklon B against typhus rather than for mass murder.

Despite the best efforts to resuscitate him, it was too late. He had died without any warning from a sudden and unexplained heart condition called sudden arrhythmic death syndrome (SADS).

Victims of child exploitation and grooming will have their child prostitution convictions disregarded after years of appalling injustice. New measures announced by the government this week will see victims who were convicted or cautioned as children for loitering and soliciting for prostitution offences automatically have these disregarded and pardoned. Announcing the scheme, the Home Office acknowledged that instead of being supported as victims, those affected were criminalised for actions that occurred under duress, fear and coercion.
