Allied fighter jets were scrambled overnight as Russia launched one their largest attacks since the war started. The city of Lviv was hit in the worst attack to date and is 43 miles from the Polish border. Lviv was hit with "thunderous strikes" over a five-hour period and residents were told to "remain indoors." Russia fired hypersonic missiles, Kinzhal dagger missiles, Kalibr cruise missiles and guided aerial bombs. Russian long-range nuclear capable bombers, Tu95MS and Tu-160 strategic bombers launched conventional missiles.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says five people were killed and 10 injured overnight as Russian drones and missiles struck several regions. He said the attacks targeted Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zaporizhzhia, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, Odesa, and Kirovohrad regions. In a post on X, formerly Twitter, he called on the US and Europe to take action to force Russian President Vladimir Putin cease his attacks.
