Lviv experienced a sustained five-hour assault by Russian Shahed drones and missiles, with large explosions audible in the city centre and the Unesco world heritage site. At least five people died across Ukraine, including four in the Lviv region and a 15-year-old girl who died alongside three family members; 14 people were injured. Substantial fires broke out, including at a civilian industrial park, and part of Lviv lost electricity. Residents were urged to close windows or use gas masks. Poland scrambled jets after previous decoy-drone incursions, and numerous drone sightings were reported in EU countries.
