The death toll from flash floods that rampaged through Central Texas rose to at least 67, including 21 children, with ongoing search efforts for the missing.
"A water bomb hit the town of Bardonecchia, causing damage and unfortunately a victim," Piedmont's President Alberto Cirio said on social media. He remarked on the increasing frequency of such emergency situations due to weather events.
According to the FOX Forecast Center, a broad area across the South and mid-Atlantic will face an increasing threat of thunderstorms beginning Thursday afternoon when a cluster of storms will develop across Middle Tennessee and move east into northern Alabama, North Georgia, and western North Carolina, an area that is still recovering from Hurricane Helene.
