It's exciting, but it's wrong: asteroids so closely spaced together would grind one another to dust in short order, making it extremely unlikely that you'd ever find such a situation near a star. In our own solar system, there are pretty good odds that you could stand on the surface of an asteroid and not even be able to see another one!

Three interstellar objects have been detected visiting our solar system: 1I/Oumuamua, 2I/Borisov, and 3I/ATLAS, indicating a trend of such bodies passing through.

Jupiter's presence actually makes these collisions far more likely on Earth, and there's more than a 70% chance that the K-Pg extinction wouldn't have occurred without Jupiter.

Scientists have calculated a 3.1% chance of the asteroid YR4 2024 hitting Earth in 2032, now revised down to 0.0017%.

The inner solar system was violent 4 billion years ago, with a heavy bombardment lasting 500 million years, which has since calmed significantly.

The dramatic first images captured by the Vera C. Rubin Observatory revealed over 2,000 new asteroids and millions of galaxies, showcasing the power of its large digital camera.

"Building the world's largest digital camera will allow scientists to explore the cosmos in new ways and at a scale that will enable discoveries that should fundamentally change our understanding of the universe," said Aaron Roodman, deputy director of the Rubin Construction.

Ceres is special, as the largest object in the asteroid belt, with a spherical shape that led to its reclassification as a dwarf planet.

Prof. Catherine Heymans expressed her amazement, stating, 'Just look, it's teeming with gorgeous glittering galaxies!' emphasizing the significance of the first observations from the Rubin Observatory.

The mission aims to shed light on the formation and evolution of asteroids and the early solar system, marking a significant step for China's interplanetary exploration.

The fact is that humanity does have a system that has been put in place in the last decade, essentially, and it worked for YR4.
