Pretty much every game has RPG elements these days, so if you squint hard enough, you can make the case for a lot of games being RPGs, even if they don't follow the same formulas and structures the genre historically has. You would think stabbing a foe with a sword was enough. But a new update for Assassin's Creed Shadows will let you twist the weapon, elbow the enemy in the face, and then stab them again in the head. It's pretty gnarly, and it's part of title update 1.1.7, which is planned to start arriving December 16. The AoT collab is dropping as part of AC Shadows' latest title update, which is also bringing a handful of balance tweaks and bug fixes, along with a new story quest called A Puzzlement. In contrast to the dramatic AoT quest, A Puzzlement is meant as a light-hearted story moment, asking players to discover who would win in a fight between Yasuke and Naoe, and challenging them to open a puzzling door.

That means it has sold about another million copies since Alinea published initial sales data a few weeks ago. At the time, Alinea noted that Ghost of Yotei had already earned its development budget back on just the 2nd day of sales.
