Andor racked up an impressive 14 nominations, including a shot at one of the night's biggest prizes, Outstanding Drama Series, a category it was also nominated for in its acclaimed first season. The show's craftsmanship shines through nominations for writing, directing and cinematography, to name a few. Forest Whitaker is nominated for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama for his performance as Saw Gerrera. Alan Tudyk is nominated for Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance for bringing Cassian Andor's robot sidekick, K-2SO to life.
From the beginning of season 2 of Andor, I was angry on behalf of Bix Caleen. Adria Arjona's character on the show spent a lot of the season getting what fans of reality competition shows lovingly call "the loser edit," where every time the series checked in with her, it found her at a new low - suffering a fresh humiliation, or struggling with the PTSD from the last batch of suffering.
But just because Andor is full of tragedy doesn't mean they're all created equal. In the closing moments of season 2's sixth episode, Cinta Kaz is killed while helping the residents of Ghorman pull off a heist of Empire weapons... After all, the death doesn't just come after a cautionary note from Cassian, it comes after Vel and Cinta finally kissed on screen.
