Dream Fatigue is a new-ish Massachusetts band launched by former Fleshwater/Vein drummer Matt Wood and fronted by Jonali McFadden, and they make shoegazy alt-rock that's not too different from what Matt was doing in Fleshwater. They released their debut LP The Lady In The Sky in 2024, and now they announced a new seven-song EP, No Requiem, due February 13 via DAZE ( pre-order).

Throwing Muses, the highly influential band that helped draw up the road map for alt-rock in the '80s and paved the way for Nirvana and so many other acts to follow in the '90s, is finally coming back to town. Throwing Muses, led by phenomenal singer-songwriter-guitarist Kristin Hersh and featuring the equally awesome rhythm section of David Narcizo on drums and Bernard Georges on bass, are set to perform on April 17 at The Chapel in San Francisco.

This album has some genre deviations with the signature 'sad guy' sauce remaining true. I used to steal my older brother's CDs in the early '00s, and found myself pretty deep in the alt-rock of that era.

On the opening track "Thumbtack," Teitelbaum explores a musical complexity that mirrors her personal struggles, blending folk simplicity with yacht rock's breezy richness.
