Evie is the queer daughter in a Christian family, and as a lesbian myself, I find it easy to understand her struggles and love her character.
Opening night can vary; some nights the audience erupts in laughter, while others are quieter, yet the respect for the play is palpable when they stand to applaud.
I can't see the audience well, except maybe the front row, and I purposely avoid looking to prevent feeling overwhelmed or nervous.
