Beware the 'Gen Z stare'! Why young people are refusing to greet you
Briefly

Generation Z workers, aged 13 to 28, have been observed refusing to engage in small talk while serving customers, leading to frustration among their clientele. Instead of responding verbally, they are reported to give 'the Gen Z stare', which involves staring at customers and waiting for them to initiate conversation. Older generations, including Millennials and Baby Boomers, have criticized Gen Z for their poor social skills. Despite this, some young individuals in their twenties recognize the issue and suggest that the silence often occurs in response to perceived 'stupid questions'.
I deal with Gen Z all day and they're basically socially stunted automatons. You greet them and they say nothing. You ask them a question and they just stare at you. They're not human.
Why as a Gen Z do younger Gen Z look at me like I killed a puppy if I compliment their jacket. Or when I greet them when they come up to me at my job.
