Contrary to traditional pasta, rice noodles should not be cooked in salted water, as recommended by Derek Chan of Mamahuhu. Instead, they need to be soaked in room temperature water, which avoids stickiness and allows for better flavor absorption after they’ve been prepared properly.

One of the reasons many people struggle to cook rice noodles properly is because they try to treat them like Italian pasta noodles.
