Behavioural experts have discovered a new parenting strategy, incorporating storytelling about magical fruits and vegetables, to effectively encourage children to choose healthier foods.
Summer stated, 'With a single instance of storytelling lasting only about 20 minutes, we obtained a surprisingly strong change from a preference for non-healthy snack food towards a preference for healthy fruits or vegetables.'
The study showcased that narratives involving magical produce piqued children's interests in healthy eating, leading to a sustained preference for fruits and vegetables.
Researchers found that 80% of children who listened to a fairy tale about magical veggies made healthier snack choices, highlighting the effectiveness of storytelling.
