Less than a week after New York Democrats suffered the loss of four congressional seats that could cost them control of the House, a call for new leadership in the state party is growing.A number of influential Democrats, including the state senators Liz Krueger and Brad Hoylman, as well as the New York City comptroller, Brad Lander, signed a statement backed by more than 600 party leaders, local officials, organizations and individuals from across the state urging Gov. Kathy Hochul to replace Jay Jacobs as party chair.
