Data from Replica, the traffic analysis company, show that total vehicle miles traveled per day within and through New York City are up 12.1 percent in just 18 months.
At the same time, the number of people commuting by car to the Manhattan central business district is rising: in fall 2022, it was about 180,100 people, or roughly 13.5 percent of all people entering the zone.
