Connecticut man allegedly killed a mother, her infant son over $400 she owed him for renting car

Lance Morales allegedly killed Jessiah Mercado and her infant son Messiah Diaz over a $400 debt, after charging her $100 a day to rent his SUV.

Witnesses reported that Morales ignored Mercado's plea about her son inside the car, revealing a chilling indifference preceding the drive-by shooting.

Authorities indicate that Morales used a fully automatic firearm in the daylight shooting, leading to multiple charges including murder and assault.

After a four-day manhunt, Morales was apprehended in Puerto Rico and faces severe charges, including potential life imprisonment without parole.
