Following the destruction of its space in Gaza, the Eltiqa Group for Contemporary Art exhibited their resilience through a show titled 'Eltiqa: How to Work Together?' at the Jameel Arts Centre in Dubai. Featuring over 180 works from six founding members, the exhibition aims to highlight artistic life amidst conflict. Co-founder Mohammed al-Hawajri emphasizes the importance of narrating their experiences through art rather than media, revealing a poignant narrative from their war-torn region. The artists, now scattered across Gaza and beyond, face a unique challenge yet remain committed to storytelling through their craft.
"I think it's our job, our work now, to talk about artistic life in this situation-before and after our dreams," says Mohammed al-Hawajri. "The media shows millions of videos and images, but it doesn't talk about art."
The exhibition 'Eltiqa: How to Work Together?' at Jameel Arts Centre showcases over 180 works from Gaza's Eltiqa Group, offering a different narrative about life in Gaza.
