With thousands of US troops patrolling the Caribbean, at least eight warships deployed in the region, and the BBC reporting that it tracked four US military planes that flew near Venezuela Thursday night, lawmakers and other leaders from across Europe on Friday issued a unified demand for the Trump administration to deescalate the tensions it has ratcheted up in recent weeks.
"It's possible that somebody like a Liz Cheney could win if she wasn't in the doghouse with her own party right now. She could be somebody who could run. I think maybe a conservative woman would win faster than a liberal. It's possible, she said. Teta agreed and added that a lot of people think a conservative woman could win long before a liberal candidate."
I wasn't sure quite what to make of him he seemed a nice guy. I maybe thought his views were going to be stronger than they turned out to be. Look, we've got ourselves here a reformed Tory, and myself rather more to the left. But we both disaffected with where politics has gone in this country. We both recognise that the biggest problem we've got is this massive inequality, and neither of us think the parties we used to be aligned with are addressing it.

While there are many reasons for Zohran Mamdani's success, the New York City mayor-elect's meteoric rise was in no small part down to his campaign's blazing social media game. Across TikTok, Instagram and X, his ads have racked up tens of millions of views, turning his charismatic potential into an electoral earthquake that has shaken the foundations of the Democratic party. Many politicians on both sides of the Atlantic will be asking: what is his secret formula? For me, the answer is clear.
Now if, like Musk's own children, you're not a member of the Elon fan club, you can probably imagine why Musk took on this project. Here's a man who purchased Twitter a few years ago specifically to refashion it into a neo-Nazi disinformation machine (check), insinuated himself with the second Trump administration so that he could hollow out the federal government (check), and designed electric cars that spontaneously combust, burning their liberal owners to death (check).
Since Zack Polanski secured the Green party leadership with an emphatic 85% vote share on an unashamedly leftwing platform, the political consensus has faced its biggest challenge since the defeat of Jeremy Corbyn's Labour. When Polanksi launched his bid in May, the Greens counted 60,000 members. They've now hurtled past 130,000, eclipsing the number of Conservative members. One poll already puts them on 15%, more than double last year's 6.2% and neck-and-neck with Labour.

Left-wing politicians briefly silenced President Donald Trump's speech in Israel's parliament (the Knesset) on Monday by calling him a "terrorist" as he spoke about the release of Israeli hostages by Hamas militants in Gaza. After their protest, the politicians were led out of the legislative chamber by Knesset security. The politicians who heckled Trump were Arab-Israeli Aymen Odeh and Ofer Cassif, both of whom are members of the Hadash coalition, a left-wingpolitical coalition formed by the Communist Party of Israel, The Jerusalem Post reported.
Piker was complaining about his poor internet connection which he equated with violence, and caused him to declare I hate this fucking country so much when he lost it on his dog for standing up. Kaya, please, just fucking go b-, just stop! said Piker, who appeared to be reaching for something that caused Kaya to let out a yelp. Jesus Christ, what are you doing? You're being such a baby! added Piker for good measure, before blaming his mom for spoiling her.
Since at least the Bush administration, designating someone or something as a terrorist or terrorism has been our equivalent of the John Wick universe's being declared excommunicado. Due process, the notion that someone would come to your aid if you were physically harmed, out the window. And while the designation hasn't lost any of its gravitas, the threshold you need to cross before getting called a terrorist has rapidly fallen over time. Per a recent White House release, merely having "anti-American views" - otherwise known as thought-crime - could get you on the list. As it turns out, even active members of the government aren't safe from the suspicion that they're actually terrorists in wait using their positions for dastardly ends.
After the defeat of Nazi Germany and the liberation of France, Senon joined the CGT union and the Communist Party. She rose up the ranks of the male-dominated trade union movement to head one of the CGT's most important women's sections in Paris. Throughout her life, Senon, who styled herself as an "eternal rebel", never gave up fighting for women's rights.
The National Students' Union organized Thursday's protests under the slogan "stop the genocide against the Palestinian people." Demonstrations, which took part in at least 39 cities and towns, varied in size from small groups to thousands who turned out in Barcelona and the capital Madrid, where students held banners with messages like "Stop Everything to Stop the Genocide," "All Eyes on the Global Sumud Flotilla," and "Free Palestine!"

Stefano Guidi / Getty Images As boats from the Global Sumud Flotilla prepared to set sail toward Gaza from the coasts of Italy, Spain, and Tunisia, a representative of Genoa's Dockworkers' Union (CALP), now part of Unione Sindacale di Base, declared that if anything happened to the flotilla, workers would " block everything."
No matter how hard ideologues try to exclusively blame their political foes for acts of political violence, the truth is that violent extremists today emerge from across the political spectrum. We have studied this problem and believe that our data can help illuminate an issue too often defined by partisan finger-pointing. As part of a study to be published this week by the Center for Strategic and International Studies,
new kind of political party... one that is rooted in our communities, trade unions and social movements, one that builds power in all regions and nations. One that belongs to you
A troubling poll from YouGov illustrates the extent of the problem. The survey, which was conducted on Sunday 24 hours after Utah Governor Spencer Cox (R) revealed that Tyler Robinson, the man arrested for allegedly assassinating Charlie Kirk, was deeply indoctrinated with leftist ideology, and the same day that Cox confirmed Fox News reporting that Robinson had a transgender romantic partner, found that more Americans believe Robinson was a Republican (24%) than a Democrat (21%).
You read a couple of excerpts from some of this texts, one of his texts said, when asked, How long you thinking about this?', a week and a half. It wasn't, I've been thinking about this for the last year and a half.' He said a week and a half. If we're going to believe what he said in other places in his texts, why not believe that? What does that say to you?
