Starbucks tells corporate staff in US and Canada to work in office at least four days a week
Briefly

Starbucks has mandated that corporate staff work in the office a minimum of four days a week starting September 29. This change is aimed at fostering collaboration and strengthening company culture. In addition, a voluntary exit program with cash payments is available for employees choosing to leave instead. The policy affects employees in the Seattle and Toronto support centers, with additional relocation requirements for certain leaders. Starbucks is also focusing on enhancing in-person customer experiences and reducing reliance on mobile orders as part of a business turnaround strategy.
Brian Niccol, the chief executive of Starbucks, stated, "We do our best work when we're together... Being in person also helps us build and strengthen our culture."
The four-day office policy will commence on 29 September, requiring corporate staff to be in the office from Monday to Thursday.
Starbucks is offering a one-time voluntary exit program with cash payments for employees who choose to leave rather than return to the office.
Niccol aims to return Starbucks to its coffeehouse roots and reduce reliance on mobile and takeaway orders by prioritizing in-person customer experiences.
