Six Exciting Chicago Bar and Restaurant Openings to Have on the Radar
"Bar Bambi is the latest addition to West Town's food corridor, at Ashland and Chicago. They're serving cocktails and high-end bar snacks, against a backdrop of what can only be described as Drive's cinematic universe (yes, the 2011 action thriller featuring Ryan Gosling). The decor is soft, moody, and retro. This is the first bar from Katie Renshaw, who previously worked at Moneygun, The Aviary, and Billy Sunday."
"SuSu is pushing the boundaries of what a Chicago steakhouse looks like with a menu that marries Lebanese, Thai, and Japanese flavors. Chef and partner Alexander Willis, formerly of Dusek's and Moody Tongue, leads the kitchen with a menu that includes a tabbouleh Caesar salad, potato borek with creamy labne and caviar, and a Wagyu confit with preserved lemon and Middle Eastern shankleesh cheese."
"Award-winning Bartender and author of Something & Tonic Nick Kokonas is behind the revival of Belmont Tavern, an old-school Polish dive bar that lay dormant for 25 years. This time around, there's more than Old Style behind the bar. Expect a full slate of liquor offerings and innovative cocktails from Kokonas, whose bar experience includes stints at Queen Mary, Longman & Eagle, and GreenRiver."
Chicago welcomes several new dining establishments as the city's restaurant scene continues to evolve. Bar Bambi opens in West Town, offering moody, retro-inspired cocktails and high-end bar snacks with cinematic decor. SuSu debuts in the West Loop, replacing the three-Michelin-starred Grace with an innovative steakhouse blending Lebanese, Thai, and Japanese cuisines under Chef Alexander Willis. Belmont Tavern reopens in Avondale after 25 years dormancy, now featuring craft cocktails and full liquor service from award-winning bartender Nick Kokonas at affordable prices. The Loop gains Fatback, a high-quality fast-casual sandwich option from Chef Charlie McKenna and the Fifty/50 Group.
