Prosecutor Anthony Orchard described Mr. Allen's actions, noting that he was likely using a prosthetic leg to confront the intruder. Witnesses heard Mr. Allen shouting in defiance before he sustained a severe head injury from which he never recovered, ultimately passing away a month later.

Mr. Allen's Mercedes had been stolen within minutes of him becoming aware of the intruder, indicating he wouldn't have handed over the keys voluntarily.
Witnesses described hearing Mr. Allen shouting, "That's my car. You aren't taking my car" as he confronted the alleged burglar, showcasing his determination.
