A 17-year-old boy was shot near a school in Fort Greene early Thursday morning. The incident occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m. as the boy was near a deli on Park Avenue and North Oxford Street.
The teen sustained a gunshot wound to the stomach but bravely ran about 200 feet to the Dr. Susan S. McKinney Secondary School of the Arts, where he received immediate assistance from school safety agents.
Authorities confirmed the boy was taken to Methodist Hospital where he is reported to be in stable condition, shedding light on the prompt response from school personnel during the emergency.
