LinkedIn recently added a new data privacy setting called 'Data for Generative AI Improvement,' which allows the platform to use users' personal data for AI training.
The option is enabled by default, allowing LinkedIn and its affiliates permission to train generative AI models using user-generated content on the platform.
User data from EU, EEA, or Switzerland regions won't be used for AI training due to strong EU data privacy laws, ensuring user protection.
Despite implementing this change, LinkedIn has not updated its terms of service to inform users about the AI training, raising concerns among the community.
