Setting New Year resolutions is something most of us do, but many of us find hard to keep. As many 44% of Americans are likely to make a resolution for the New Year, but only 22% stick with a resolution long enough to achieve it.
No matter how you label it, be clear about one thing: You are making a promise to yourself, to own your actions and be accountable for the process of moving toward whatever it is you want to bring into your life.
The Forbes Health survey of 1,000 U.S. citizens shows improve fitness as the top resolution (46%) and improve finances is in second place (38%). Close behind, in third place is improve mental health (36%).
To increase your chances of keeping resolutions, align them with your values and aspirations. This ensures that your goals reflect what truly matters to you, enhancing motivation and accountability.
