Where would we be without Stand by Me? As the world reels from the shocking murder of Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer, it's natural that some fans will turn to Reiner's greatest films for comfort. Josh Brolin, Lee Pace and the rest of a star-studded cast go back to the future sort of in The Running Man, director Edgar Wright's Easter Egg-stuffed gift to cinemaniacs that's set in the near future and constructed around a deadly reality game that Stephen King envisioned in a 1982 novel of the same name. And if it all sounds familiar, the novel was previously adapted for the big screen and became a popular 1987 Arnold Schwarzenegger action/sci-fi flick. Wright's R-rated visual feast opens Nov. 14 in area theaters.
Where does Stephen King live? Many fans know that the prolific horror author based the setting of his massively popular book turned film franchise, It, on his longtime town, Bangor, Maine. In recent years, however, King and his wife of over 50 years, Tabitha, have split their time between other properties where they have more privacy. The couple's Victorian house in Bangor has become a site of fan pilgrimage, iconic for its blood-red exterior and intricate black iron gate.

Two of those gaps can now be filled thanks to a pair of welcome surprises from King's publisher Scribner. The Running Man and The Long Walk are now available in separate hardcover editions for the first time.
