Mama Shelter's Shoreditch location will transform into a co-living space after closing as a boutique hotel in February 2026.
The place is a real looker - minimalist and monochromatic interiors with plenty of stainless steel and exposed features - and the menu is more than a match, showcasing the best seafood from across the UK in dishes inspired by the coastal regions Italy, Spain, Portugal and France. Given oysters are in the name, it's no surprise that Noisy Oyster has them on the menu,
The Hackney Half is one of the most popular races in the city, which means getting a spot at the event is no easy feat. Good thing then that another half marathon will be hosted in east London this year. After the success of the Run Shoreditch 10K, the organisers (the very same behind the Hackney Half, the Oxford Half and the Saucony London 10K) are turning it onto a half distance race for 2026.
After a two-month-long refurb, XOYO is set to reopen this week and re-establish its reputation as one of the capital's top underground nightlife venues. The late-night music venue was acquired, alongside Camden Assembly, by Propaganda Independent Venues in November, bringing it back under independent ownership . Its new owners said the goal was to turn XOYO into 'a cultural hub for the area, offering opportunities and support to local artists and businesses'. The first step? A major makeover.
The tree in question can be found in the Shoreditch office of ad agency Mother. It's not one big tree, rather 70 individual trees entwined together and spiralling all the way up the building's staircase, decked out with light-up stars. It measures nearly 100ft (equivalent to the height of around seven double deckers), dwarfing Trafalgar Square's 66ft Norwegian spruce and the 67ft Eastern City Tree at Pan Pacific London.
Enough to make any fan of Scandi homeware swoon are the installations from the minimalist Danish design house HAY and Swedish audio innovators Teenage Engineering. For the sneakerheads, Goodhood has had a custom-built footwear area installed selling every shoe brand under the sun, from Salomon to Clarks Originals. Then there's the floor-to-ceiling T-shirt wall, stocking brands including Stüssy, Aries and Extra Vitamins. The new shop also sells Goodhood's own brand, Goodhood Lifestore, which makes everything from bar soap, to matcha whisks.
Pizza is simple: dough, sauce and cheese, but the slice shop is about more than that. It's the smell, the art, the queue, the first bite. Shoreditch will carry the same nostalgia as Watford, but in a space that feels bigger, bolder, and built for London. We're not chasing hype, we're creating something timeless. A slice shop London can call its own.
With over 25 years in the industry (including Fashion Week creds), Brett has created a space that's as much about switching off as it is about great hair. Think natural light pouring in through floor-to-ceiling windows, head massages, bespoke rituals tailored to your hair, and stylists who actually take the time to talk through what'll work for you. Oh, and there's a complimentary drinks menu if you fancy bubbles, plus you can order in from Salad Project too. Bliss.
