Bayern Munich's club website issued a release on the injury: Lena Oberdorf tore the cruciate ligament in her right knee in FC Bayern Women's Bundesliga game against Köln, as confirmed following an examination on Monday. The 23-year-midfielder will have an operation on Tuesday and be out of action for several months. It's her second cruciate ligament tear in her right knee, having also suffered the injury in 2024.
San Francisco's defense took a massive blow for the remainder of the 2025 season in Week 6. Veteran LB Fred Warner dislocated his ankle in the first quarter. Warner had to be carted off the field, and his ankle was put in an air cast. That is never a good sign. Fred Warner's teammates were visibly upset when their defensive captain was down. Safety Ji'Ayir Brown immediately took a knee when he saw Warner hurt.
The most concerning of all centered on running back Austin Ekeler. He went down with a non-contact injury and immediately looked in severe pain. He got helped off the field, but it didn't look good. He was immediately ruled out with an Achilles injury, and insider reports suggested that it could be season-ending. Head coach Dan Quinn stated that there would be no additional information until further tests were carried out. It wasn't looking especially promising for Ekeler.
