Dublin Fire Brigade is currently at the scene of the fire on the M50 Northbound at J7 in Lucan, Dublin. A spokesperson for the fire brigade said road users can expect the full closure. "Firefighters are currently responding to a waste truck fire, Northbound on M50 in Dublin J7 Lucan," he said. "A full closure is in place, we'll keep you updated as the incident develops," a spokesperson for the Dublin Fire Brigade said.
Ontario Provincial Police say one person is dead after a two-vehicle collision in Kawartha Lakes Saturday. In a post to social media, police said a cargo van and a car crashed on Highway 35. The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The driver of the cargo van was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A 32-year-old man was killed in a car crash on the M4 on Sunday morning, resulting in part of the motorway being closed all day. The man was driving in a black Mercedes when his vehicle came off the road on the slip-road to Leigh Delamere services at approximately 2am on Sunday morning. The victim of Tuesday's trench collapse in South Yarmouth has been identified. Miguel Reis, 61, of Fall River, died inside the trench, according to the Town of Yarmouth. Two other workers were injured in the collapse at 152 South Shore Drive near the Skipper Chowder House. One of the injured workers is currently receiving care at Rhode Island Hospital after being airlifted there, according to the town's statement.
Gardaí and emergency services are currently at North Strand Road, Dublin 1, following the discovery of a suspicious device. The services of the Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit were requested and they are currently conducting an examination of the scene, a garda spokesperson said. The road is currently closed from the 5 Lamps Junction to the North Strand Road (Newcomen) Bridge.
At least 57 people were injured by a gas tanker truck explosion along a highway in Mexico City. The vehicle blew up on Wednesday under a highway overpass in the populous Iztapalapa district in the southeast of Mexico's capital. The explosion sent flames and smoke billowing over the area, causing widespread damage and burning numerous other vehicles.
