The survey from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research was conducted after Democrats' recent victories in off-year elections but before Congress took major steps to try to end the longest shutdown in U.S. history. The polling was conducted as the German Olympic Sports Confederation seeks to whittle down four candidates to be the venue for Germany's first Summer Olympics in more than five decades. Only 22% opposed the idea, while 6% gave no opinion.

But so far, Trump has displayed none of the concerns or worry he had in 2018-2019, during the longest shutdown of 35 days.
This continues despite non-stop nonsensical attacks from elected officials in the Trump Administration and here in California that have somehow escalated in the past six months. 62% of California voters, including 80% of Democrats, support building the project. The poll also breaks down approval by age, showing that as voters get younger they are more likely to support the project. 79% of Gen Zers, 72% of Millennials, 56% of Gen Xers, and 48% of Baby Boomers want to see the rail line built.
