"From the get, this police report is used to determine whether a criminal case will be started," said Kate Chatfield, executive director of the California Public Defenders Association, which sponsored the bill. "Then a judge would be reviewing this police report, for example, to determine the circumstances of offense and to determine whether or not to hold somebody in jail."

A series of thefts and disturbances were reported in Los Gatos, including a grand theft involving a Rolex and multiple incidents of juvenile misbehavior.

On April 11, police were dispatched to a Revere Drive residence regarding a disturbance call. An arriving officer talked to the caller, who said while trying to work from home and her husband was yelling and screaming. The incident was only verbal so both parties were advised to stay separate. No charges were filed.

The police were notified about the discovery of the mutilated remains of two animals found on a bench at Centerville Train Station.
